Senator Markwayne Mullin, representing Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate, posted several updates on social media between August 26 and August 27, 2025. The tweets included personal acknowledgments and information about opportunities for young Oklahomans interested in public service.
On August 26, Mullin expressed appreciation for a media mention, writing: “Thanks @willcain for the shout out, brother. You had me laughing with the New York Times article comment.”
The following day, Mullin addressed constituents considering military service academies. He stated: “Are you interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy? NOTE: 4 of the 5 academies REQUIRE a congressional nomination.
It’s my honor to help young Oklahomans pursue their goals of serving our country. Applications MUST be received by Oct. 10th, 2025. https://t.co/TzbSLD5sN1” Four of the five federal service academies require an official nomination from a member of Congress as part of their application process.
Later that morning, Mullin promoted his office’s internship program: “The Mullin intern program is a great way for college students to learn about the legislative process and give back to the Sooner State.
We receive MANY applications for a few spots. NOTE: Applications for SPRING 2026 open on Monday, Sept. 1st, 2025. https://t.co/0VyVNIvzjf” Congressional internships are highly competitive and provide hands-on experience in government operations.
Markwayne Mullin has served as U.S. Senator from Oklahoma since January 2023 after previously representing Oklahoma’s Second Congressional District in the House of Representatives.
