Markwayne Mullin, U.S. Senator from Oklahoma and former business owner, shared a series of posts on his Twitter account in early August 2025 addressing both his professional experience and recent political developments.

On August 2, 2025, Mullin reflected on his background as an employer: “Yes… I’ve hired a lot of people as a business owner, some I’ve had to fire over the years. Not everyone works out.”

The following day, Mullin commented on ongoing negotiations in the Senate involving former President Donald Trump and Senate Democrats. On August 3, he wrote: “I’ve spoken with President Trump a lot in the past 24 hours. Senate Democrats wanted a BILLION dollars to fast track his nominees. Trump told them to pound sand. NO DEAL.

We’re going to regroup, and prepare to CHANGE the Senate rules. Stay tuned.”

Later that morning, Mullin posted a Bible verse from Matthew 6:34 NIV: ‘”Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”‘

Senator Mullin has served in the U.S. Senate since January 2023 after previously representing Oklahoma’s 2nd congressional district in the House of Representatives.
