US Senator James Lankford (R-OK) announced the Senate’s final approval of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (FY26 NDAA), which now awaits President Trump’s signature. The legislation is intended to enhance national defense, support military missions, and provide significant benefits for Oklahoma’s service members, defense workforce, and military installations.

Lankford stated, “The United States military is the most powerful and moral fighting force in the world. This year’s National Defense Authorization Act not only strengthens Oklahoma’s role in national security, but also makes sure our military remains a force no one in the world would ever want to challenge, ever.”

He emphasized that he led or secured several provisions within the bill that will directly impact both Oklahoma and broader national interests. The FY26 NDAA process includes measures affecting Department of Defense operations.
