Jim Shaw, a public figure active in Oklahoma politics, posted several updates on May 4, 2026, regarding the potential conclusion of the legislative session and developments on a key energy bill.

In his first post of the day, Shaw suggested that the legislative session could be ending soon. He wrote: “Rumor is this could be our last week of session. Stay tuned for updates throughout the week, calls to action on bills, etc. Also, had an interview with @RMConservative at @theblaze this morning, clips coming soon. Have a blessed week!” (May 4, 2026).

Shortly after, he reiterated this possibility in another message: “Possibly last week of session?” (May 4, 2026).

Later that evening, Shaw shared more details about his interview and ongoing legislation concerning wind energy regulations. He stated: “Clip with @RMConservative from this morning that discusses SB2, the wind turbine setback bill, which is very close to going to conference committee. Distances are not as good and the county option, allowing counties to adjust the setback distances, was removed from the bill.” (May 4, 2026).

SB2 refers to proposed legislation regulating how far wind turbines must be set back from certain locations in Oklahoma. The removal of a “county option” means local governments would no longer have authority to adjust these distances independently if the current version becomes law.

Wind energy policy has been a recurring issue in Oklahoma’s legislature over recent years as lawmakers debate land use concerns and renewable energy development.
